How It Works

When PayPal transactions are synced into Bookkeep, outgoing payments (i.e., Payments Sent) are grouped into daily summaries.

Instead of manually categorizing each individual transaction, Bookkeep allows you to:

  • Identify the vendor (payee) associated with each payment

  • Apply rules based on that vendor

  • Automatically map transactions to the correct expense account

Vendor-Level Mapping

With vendor-level mapping, you can define how payments to specific vendors should be categorized every time they appear.

Example

If you regularly pay a supplier for raw materials:

  • Vendor: ABC Supply Co.

  • Transaction Type: Payments Sent

  • Mapped Account: Raw Materials Expense

Once this mapping is set:

Every future PayPal payment sent to ABC Supply Co. will automatically be categorized to your Raw Materials Expense account.
