We know the devil’s in the details, especially when it comes to your books. That’s why April’s updates bring more visibility to your COGS, more flexibility to your Amazon reporting, and a smoother setup for Sage Intacct users in Canada.
Here’s what’s new this month (and ICYMI, here’s the March edition).
Sage Intacct now supported in Canada
Bookkeep is now an approved partner of Sage Intacct in Canada, no extra sender ID required. You can use Bookkeep’s sender ID to connect directly, simplifying setup and saving on fees.
To get started, you’ll create a Web Services User Role and User in Sage Intacct, gather a few key details like your Company ID and password, and plug those into Bookkeep to sync your ecommerce and POS apps. Once it’s in place, the rest takes care of itself.
📖How to connect Sage Intacct to Bookkeep
New data attachment for Shopify COGS
We’ve added financial data attachments to the Shopify cost of goods sold (COGS) journal entry. Now you can see exactly what was sold, returned, and which costs were used to calculate the COGS entry, giving you full transparency into how the numbers break down.
More rollup options for Amazon Seller reporting
Want to report Amazon sales your way? Now you can. Bookkeep lets you choose how to group financial data before posting it into your accounting platform. You can now roll up revenue and COGS by:
- Product category
- Item name
- Fulfillment channel (Amazon fulfilled vs. merchant fulfilled)
- Order type (standard vs. invoiced)
This flexibility means you’re not stuck with a single lump-sum journal entry. Instead, you can break things out by what matters to your business. Whether that’s evaluating category profitability, comparing fulfillment performance, or tracking product-level trends over time.
The best part? Each rollup method populates subcategories in your journal entries, giving you more visibility and control when mapping to your chart of accounts. You can even auto-create new accounts if they don’t already exist.

Duties captured for Shopify orders
For businesses using Shopify’s Managed Markets, Bookkeep now captures duties and includes them under the adjustments line in your accounting data. No more manual adjustments, just a more complete picture of what you’re really collecting and paying.
Coming down the pipeline
We’re continuing to build features that save time, cut manual work, and give you more clarity into your numbers. Whether you’re juggling multiple platforms, currencies, or locations, we’re here to help you keep everything synced and stress-free.
